Doctoral Fellowships

With support from the US Department of Education, the microfluidics / nanofluics laboratory is offering graduate fellowships for doctoral studies in the area of lab on chip technology.  These fellowships are restricted to US citizens and permanent residents.  In order to qualify for the fellowship, interested students must apply and be admitted to Penn’s graduate program in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. Applicants are welcome to express their interest by writing to Professor Bau.  Underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.

 

BRIEF BIO:

At Penn, since 1980. In 1989, he spent a 6 months sabbatical leave at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. Fellow of the ASME. Presidential Young Investigator (1984). ASME-Heat Transfer Division Best Paper Award (1982). He has authored or co-authored over 109 archival journal publications and over 55 proceedings papers. He has co-edited 7 books and proceedings volumes and has delivered over 63 invited talks all over the world. He has supervised 20 doctoral students, 23 postdoctoral fellows, and 12 master level students.
