THE DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND APPLIED MECHANICS at the UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA invites applications for tenure-track positions in the area of computational science and engineering.  Applications at the assistant, associate, and full professor level will be considered. Opportunities exist for joint appointments with other engineering and/or science departments. Open Postdoctoral Positions

 Professor Haim Bau's lab: Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics Micro/Nano Fluidics Laboratory Post Doctoral / Research Associate Position   Professor Bau’s group is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Associate to assist in the development of a fluidic system for the identification of pathogens in oral fluids.  The prospective candidate must have a PhD in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.  Experimental experience and knowledge of computer aided design and manufacturing are essential.  The position is available immediately.  Please send your resume, list of publications, and names and e-mail addresses of at least three referees to <mailto:meampd@seas.upenn.edu>meampd@seas.upenn.edu

Post Doctoral Position

 

The NBIC’s Molecular Motions Group is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work as part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of engineers and biophysicists focused on studying the mechanics and function of macromolecules and molecular motors at the single molecule level under Drs. H. Bau, R. Composto, D. Discher, Y.E. Goldman, H. Hu, and /or P. Nelson in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, and Physiology.

The prospective candidate must have a PhD in Engineering, Biophysics, Physical Chemistry or equivalent.  Experimental experience is essential.  The position is available immediately.
